Floral Designing & Balance

As most of you probably know, I attended the Utah School of Floral Design in 2010.
Here I am with some of my fellow classmates. Shorly afterward, I officially started Field of Gold Floral Design, my flower design business. I did several weddings, mother's days, one valentine's day, and several other small projects.
I love flowers, I really do. I enjoy working with them. Unfortunatly, I had a really hard time balancing the flower business with motherhood, and my housewife duties. Because of this, I came to the conclusion and realization that now is not the season in my life to be starting businesses, big or small. Being the best mother and wife I can be comes first priority in my life right now. I'm not going to lie, Yes, occasionally I dream of being a working mom, but because of this experience and my experience with being an Avon lady, I think when the time comes for me to pursue a money-making opportunity, I would want to work for someboody else, in an office, outside of the home. For now, that is at least a few years in the future. I have found a new purpose and appreciation for being a stay-at-home mom. I try harder to cherish every moment with my sweet kids. I count myself extremely lucky that I am married to the most wonderful hard-working man I know.

Pretty Little Darlings

Lisa, Holly, & I tried to make a cute little backdrop for a little photo session for the girls. Sadly, the pics didn't turn out as well as I was hoping. I think I need a new camera.

Passion for Plantin'

Here is a typical day at our house during the spring. We've planted a plethora of perennials and annuals and it's so much fun to watch as they sprout, then bud, then bloom, then a new type of flower startes growing. I finally found some of my favorite flower, the peony. I hope the three plants I got do well to multiply and replenish in the years to come. I've also planted petunias, english daisies, snapdragons, begonias, asters, and a few others I can't remember the names of. Those are in addition to the flowers that were planted here by the previous owner of our home: clematis, miniature rose bushes, and columbine.
We have also been planting our garden out back; we've planted peas, beans, zuchinni, summer squash, mini pumpkin, tomatoes, peppers, red onions, lettuce, argula, baby spinach, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries.
Michelangelo and Wesley love to help and attempt to help out with the garden in every way. It's fun to teach them which plants are flowers and which are weeds and when to plant and when to harvest. They also love to help me water. Michael especially likes the harvest part. He devoured our first pea pod just yesterday.

Mother's Day

This was my 5th Mother's Day as a mom and it was as special as ever. I got a beautiful bouquet, a birdie cookie jar, and a trip to Vegas. It was awesome. I am grateful every day that I have been blessed to be a mother, it is a role I treasure and take very seriously. I love my husband and kids more than anything in this world.
