Yes, that was a Star Trek reference. We LOVE Star Trek!
The characters, the missions, the discussions, the romance, the action, the adventure, the moral dilemmas, so intriguing! I had only seen a few minutes of one TNG episode when I was ten. I thought Trek was only for nerds and geeks. But my honey grew up watching it. His dad and brothers like it too, but we like it the most. In fact, come to think of it, we are the biggest Star Trek fans I know. ha! I dream about it often, I dream I am in the Star Trek world, it feels so real.
We have watched every single episode in order except for the last season of The Original Series. To those of you that have only seen the newer Star Trek movies with Christopher Pine, you are missing out! The newer movies are set in an alternate universe, and the cinematography, the cast, the characters, the stories are not even close to being as deep and thought-provoking as most of the television show episodes. Most recently, we have been re-watching "Enterprise".
Which aired in 2001-2005, it's the most recent Star Trek tv show. We have even started showing some of the episodes to the kids, it's TV-PG.
Oh, yeah and we like to dress our kids up like Spock.
In April we have tickets to Salt Lake Comic-Con, which will have most of the Star Trek: The Next Genergation Cast! http://saltlakecomiccon.com/project_category/star-trek-the-next-generation/
cool! Don't worry, tons of nerdy/geeky pics coming.
One last confession. Yes, we named one of our kids after a Star Trek character, Wesley Crusher.

Wesley the Warrior
He had to have tubes put in his ears in March. He was the most cheerful sweetest little boy ever about it though. He kept smiling so big for all the pictures. The part I hated was that we weren't allowed to be there for the surgery. So they took him away and a nurse would come back saying "He did great!", but they didn't bring him back for sooooo long. We waited over two hours and they told us it would only be about 45 minutes. But apparently he was just sleeping after the surgery. Why we couldn't see him just sleeping really bothered me. I was super worried. But all is well. He did great and now he can hear much better. :)
By the way, I do not know why these pics will not be rotated. I rotate pictures all the time. Oh well, just turn you head or your computer and you'll be able to see.

Passion for Plantin'
Here is a typical day at our house during the spring. We've planted a plethora of perennials and annuals and it's so much fun to watch as they sprout, then bud, then bloom, then a new type of flower startes growing. I finally found some of my favorite flower, the peony. I hope the three plants I got do well to multiply and replenish in the years to come. I've also planted petunias, english daisies, snapdragons, begonias, asters, and a few others I can't remember the names of. Those are in addition to the flowers that were planted here by the previous owner of our home: clematis, miniature rose bushes, and columbine.
Michelangelo and Wesley love to help and attempt to help out with the garden in every way. It's fun to teach them which plants are flowers and which are weeds and when to plant and when to harvest. They also love to help me water. Michael especially likes the harvest part. He devoured our first pea pod just yesterday.

2 1/2 & Growing Strong!
My dear sweet lion-hearted Wesley Richard is growing up! He is now speaking in partial sentences! For example:
"I don't want it!"
"O.K., I will."
"I did it!"
"I need help, mama."
"That's funny."
"No, Michael."
"Hi, Pampie!" (to Francesca)
"Papa's home!" "Papa's home!"
He has also hit a little growth spurt that last few weeks, which is very good. He loves playing with animals, Michael, and watching Barney. His favorite foods are noodles, string cheese, and Life cereal. He is still just as cuddly as ever and loves to make people laugh. I love that little guy!
