Shrimp and "Can I please have another app?"

Michelangelo's three favorite foods are hand down shrimp, mushrooms, and olives. The other night we went to Tucanos and he had over 15 full size shrimps. Between he and Wesley, they can almost finish an entire can of olives at one sitting. (although I don't usually let them do that)  If only those foods were cheap enough and nutritious enough that we could feed them to him everyday.

He is one funny kid. One of his favorite things to do lately is play game apps on my iPhone. He loves Copter, Shapes, Puzzle lite, and Real Racing, oh and Touch Dogs(it's like a little gia pet).

Lately here are come common phrases that come out of his mouth:
"Can I please have another app?"
"I did not go to the app store." (lying)
"I am being good, can I play your iPhone?"
"I just want to play on your iPhone!" (while throwing a fit)

His fourth birthday is coming up in March. Birthdays are sad and happy things. Sad because you sometimes don't want them to grow up, and good because sometimes they don't grow up fast enough.
I am also starting another co-op/joy preschool for Michael next week. It's going to be kind of like the one i did in Orem. I know focusing his energy on something educational will be very good for him, so that will be nice. Not to mention the time I am going to have with just Wesley and Francy. I won't know what to do with myself. Just kidding I have a ton of things I want to do, especially giving wESLEY more one-on-one time. We are looking forward to the snow melting and the weather warming up so we can actually play outside, work on the yard, get some sunshine, and put away the iPhone.

Wishing for Zinnias

I am really looking forward to spring. I look forward to having to wear sunglasses like these FENY ones:

and for some iris's, zinnias, and miniature roses to bloom in my front yard.

mR. bIRTHDAY

So, Justin is now 29. Wow! We had a week of partying to celebrate. He got a transformer because he is still a child at heart.  ;) Michael just loves it. He also got some tools to put in his newly decorated and painted workshop in the backyard. (Sorry no pics of that) I think his favorite present was his Bachelors Degree. Woohoo!

Couponing Disaster

So, I heard about this whole couponing thing where you get five sunday papers, use all the coupons and save thousands of dollars. I am trying it and failing. Any tips from all you super moms out there?

Budding Fashionista

You'll never guess who made Francesca's skirt.
Yep, it was me! I got a new sewing machine for Christmas from my parents and I am so excited to create a whole bunch of pretty little things.
Francesca Betty is sooooo lucky to have her own personal designer, me, Jennifer Trend to design her clothing. Couture for an eight month old? Yep.

CTR 7

Brother & Sister Furr are now the proud teachers of our wards CTR 7 Class.

We are actually pretty excited about it. It will be fun being together for all three hours again. (We taught the five year old when we were newlyweds) Seven year olds are so darling and smart! We will need lots of help from the Lord in this calling but I know we will learn a lot and hopefully the kids will, too.
By the way, Michael has also been welcomed into the primary as a Sunbeam. We sit just a few rows back and I wave at him, " Hi Michael!" He just smirks and pretends like he didn't see us. Three years old and already too cool for his parents! What is that about!?

2 1/2 & Growing Strong!

My dear sweet lion-hearted Wesley Richard is growing up! He is now speaking in partial sentences! For example:
"I don't want it!"
"O.K., I will."
"I did it!"
"I need help, mama."
"That's funny."
"No, Michael."
"Hi, Pampie!" (to Francesca)
"Papa's home!" "Papa's home!"
He has also hit a little growth spurt that last few weeks, which is very good. He loves playing with animals, Michael, and watching Barney. His favorite foods are noodles, string cheese, and Life cereal. He is still just as cuddly as ever and loves to make people laugh. I love that little guy!

It's a Girl Thing

That us ladies love to jump in pictures together at every opportunity.

"Bessers" and Michael's Other Terms of Endearment

So, Michael has been using some pretty interesting nicknames lately.
Krishna our kitten he refers to as "Pitna".
He calls Francesca "Pampie" or "Pampers".
I am "Momsie".
Justin is "Pops".
And yep, For Wesley, it's usually "Bessers" or "Bessie".
Hopefully this is just a phase...

I loved it and I hated it...

So, I have actually seen three semi-newer movies in the past week. Amazing considering the number of current movies I have seen in the past three years. (not too many)
Here are my reviews:
(500) Days of Summer
I loved it and I hated it. I thought it was so cute and full of style and heart. The characters were so.... adorable. But, the outcome of their relationship was so unexpected for me so I hated it. Also, it did have an f-bomb and some sexual references, which threw me off a little. But I do love Zooey Deschanel and Joseph-Gordon Levitt. I loved their style and adorable spontaneous personalities. I look forward to seeing them in more movies.

Avatar

This movie has nudity! Mostly boobies and butts of the alien species but I was seriously so offended. I personally think it should have been rated R. The story was pretty cool. They say the special effects were cool but I figured out that special effects really don't have much of an effect on me. There was some violence. I would never promote this movie because of the nudity. If that was taken out, it might have been an okay movie, but since it's in over half of the movie, I would say it is just not worth it.

Julie & Julia
This was just a breath of fresh air. I loved it! But I can't sidestep that there is some language. But the story was cute and fun and not too heavy. It made me want to start cooking. Not Julia Child type food, but really get my hands dirty in some sweet new recipes.

There you have it, folks! Have you seen any of these flicks? What did you think?

Kitchen Makeover- After/Part 5

So there it is. Magenta Jewel and Paris Mint were the winners. I kept telling myself white cabinets were a cop-out but after painting them off-white I am really happy with how they turned out. The whole house feels much more open and clean and bright. Thank you Mark & Holly for helping paint the cabinets and thank you Justin for taking care of the kids while I was painting away.
Have I showed you our retro stove and double oven yet? It's at least 50 years old but works like a charm.  ;)
I still want to tear out the carpet in the kitchen and put tile in or something. The projects are never ending. Any ideas for the kitchen floor?
