Keeping The Kids Safe & Healthy
One of my main concerns is keeping my children safe and healthy. Here are some resources that help me so maybe they could help you, too.
This picture is Dr. Neilsen from Utah Valley Pediatrics with Francesca . He is fairly new but he does a really great job. He calms my worries and listens and gives great advice about health issues with my kids. I recommend him and Utah Valley Pediatrics to anyone with kids and lives in Utah Valley. They also have like at least 5 or 6 locations. They are nice and I hardly ever have to wait long for an appointment. Another bonus is UVPediatrics has a phone number that you can call anytime day or night and there are nurses that will answer any question you have about your childs health. You don't even have to be a patient to call. It's the best. I feel better knowing I don't need to hesitate calling even if it's a small concern. Their website is: http://www.uvpediatrics.com/index.php
Since I'm on the topic I also want to recommend the Utah Poison Control Center. I have called them a few times when Wesley ate some of my eyeshadow, and Michael sprayed some cleaners on his chest and they were so fast so professional. (The kids were fine, I just had to watch them, give them some water and a bath and they were fine, but I just wanted to be sure.) They were so nice and said never hesitate to call, that's what they are there for and better safe than sorry. They even called me a week later for a follow-up and sent me some free poison prevention materials, stickers and magnets. I'm sure they would send you that stuff too if you want. Their number is 1-800-222-1222 and website is http://uuhsc.utah.edu/poison/.
I was deciding on whether not to blog about this but it's been on my mind and if having this info on my blog helps at least one person than I'm happy.
New Years Resolution

Springville Herald
Today we received our first edition of my local newspaper, The Springville Herald. Little did I know it is filled with fun facts and useful news such as:
Springville Police Report- Springville Police had 218 calls last week including 28 for amnimal problems...
Forever Friends Meet- Reservations were made at the Marriot Hotel where several Springville women met monday for their Christmas luncheon. The ladies meet monthly and Monday took pictures and enjoyed favors, good food, and beautiful decorations...
If I go to lunch with some other Springville residents I wonder if I'll be in the paper, too. Huh.

Christmas Trees: Then & Now
2004 was our first Christmas being married. Justin looks so young here even though he was 24. This next picture is of our tree in 2005. We decided to get a little more fANCY. Most of those presents were for Michael, who was still in my belly. In 2006 this looks like we had a ton of presents I know. My secret is wrapping up a few large and medium sized boxes to create a barrier between Michael and the tree. It actually worked pretty well. In 2007 we went and bought our first real Christmas tree. I sort of over decorated it. Last Christmas (2008) I was so excited to have a baby girl that Justin let me decorate in pink and purple. Wesley and Michael broke more ornaments than I could count.
That's why this year I decided not to use any glass ornaments. I decorated the tree with birds.

A Pioneer Christmas
We attended our Ward Christmas Party on Saturday Night. It was a "Pioneer Christmas" theme. We had lots of fun dressing up for the occasion. I wore the same dress and bonnet I made and wore to a Pioneer youth trek when I was 17. Francesca wore a dress that my mother wore when she was a baby. Justin looked extremely debonaire similar to an englishman immigrating to Utah to be with the saints. We all ate dutch oven pork and potatoes and sang Christmas carols. It was all very "pioneer-esque".
