The Cure concert and more...

It's been a while since I've posted. Sorry. A lot has happened over the past month or so. I'm so happy that it's started warming up more. But we do need all this moisture. As Jenny mentioned, we bought a used scooter. It's not the fastest thing but it's a lot of fun to drive and use to get to work and school for me. We can both ride on it--althought it's kinda a tight squeeze but it works. I can get it going about 40-45mph which is pretty good for a 50cc (a little slower with us both). Anyway, people make fun of me at work but I don't care because it's fun to ride and gets awesome gas mileage! between 90-110 mpg!!!
Also, I got Jenny a blender for Mother's Day and we've been making smooties like 4 or 5 times a week. They're so good and we've learned to almost make them taste better than Jamba Juice's smoothies. And it's much cheaper and they're way healthy. It was a good investment. We strongly suggest getting one yourself if you don't have one.

I thought this picture of Wesley was sooooo cute! He was really tired and wouldn't fall asleep in my arms. So I just set him on the ground and turned my head to talk to Jenny and when I looked back at him he was already asleep. It was so cute.
We went to the park and had a picnic on one warm Saturday a while ago. It was nice to spend the time with my family (MaloFurr's as we call them)--seems like we don't see them as often anymore. We decided to do a family pic but some refused to be in the picture, but this is most of us.

Anyway, so another awesome thing that happened is we went to the Cure concert at the E-Center on Friday night. It was such a cool show. The speakers were very loud but we used ear plugs. They played most of my favorite songs like Lullaby, Lovesong, Hot Hot Hot!, Just Like Heaven, and they even played Catch just for Jenny. The only song they didn't play that I was disappointed about was Close To Me because it was on the setlist. But Robert Smith (lead singer) really outdoes himself at his concerts--he did 3 encores!! He was so tired, he even said something like "ahhh, my voice...so tired..." (with that funny Cureish British accent). Here I'll post some pics from the concert. They're not the best because we were on the balcony but it was the front row at least. Some are kind of blurry:

Our New Scooter

I guess this post could go two ways. Our little boy Wesley is a scooter, and an adorable and fast one at that, but I want to introduce you to someone else. On friday night we bought a 2005 TNG Venice 50cc Scooter. She is blue, silver, and white, and so much fun. Justin plans to ride to and from work and school as long as the weather's nice to save on gas. 90+ Miles Per Gallon isn't bad, aye? I want to name her the Delta Flyer. We showed my parents yesterday and my dad took her for a spin. He loved it. Don't worry, we always wear our helmets, and are very safe. Too bad my friends from Cache Valley live so far away, otherwise we could have a scooter gang.

I heart Star Trek

Yes, I am a Trekkie. Star Trek-The Next Generation and Star Trek-Voyager have to be the most creative shows I have ever seen. They really make people think. They have adventure, humor, action, and even a little bit of romance. I love all the characters. I sometimes even dream I am part of the crew. Justin and I are totally obbsessed. We even someday may attend the Star Trek experience in Las Vegas. Some may think we are dorks and some may agree but either way we are declaring to the world:
"Star Trek is the best show in the world!"

TTA- Summer Memories

The Tuesday Tell All for this week is favorite childhood summer memories.

Here are some events that stand out in my mind:

Going fishing with my dad every summer, catching rainbow trout then cooking them and eating them when we got home.

Having Slumber Parties with my friends in middle school and high school. (Toilet papering, night games, girl talk, prank calls, etc)

Gardening with my mom.

Laying out to get a tan on the tramp. (one time i didn't have any tanning oil so I used baby oil-I was so sunburned! lol! I don't recommend that!)

Mowing the lawn. ( I love the smell of it)

Some really early memories are picking raspberries with my mom and sister, riding our horses, running through sprinklers, playing with cousins, and birthday parties.

Going to Hyrum Dam boating.

Camping. Hiking. Walking. Providence Canyon.

Girls Camp.

Fabulous Family Reunions.

Skinny dipping.

Jeeping.

Long bike rides.

Driving just to go for a drive. no where to go but drive with the windows down and the hair in my face.

Softball games and softball practices. I miss that sport.

TTA- Why I Love Being a Mother

Being the Mama of Michelangelo and Wesley is so much fun. It is hard and I feel the responsibility, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I feel so blessed by our Heavenly Father that he has trusted me with two of the most beautiful healthy little boys. I love being a mom. It is so hard to express how much I love it in words. I am thankful being a mom because now I understand how much my own mom loves me. I love waking up in the morning and seeing my boys smiling and giving me hugs and kisses. My kids fill an emptiness in my heart I never knew I had before I had them. I love having two little balls of half me and half the man I love most in the world. I love making them smile and noticing that Michael has the same smile I had as a child. I love it when my kids fall asleep on me. I also love the time when they both started sleeping through the night. I missed them but it was wonderful. It is indescribeable how much joy I feel when holding them so close. I love being a teacher and a mentor to them. I love the fact that they will pick up on how I live my life and so I better be livin' it right. I love being a mom because it teaches me to eat better because I have to feed them healthy, too. They inspire me to be a better person. I love being a mom because I know I'll always be their mom no matter what. I can't imagine my life any other way. I love learning every day something new just by being a mom. I thank my Heavenly Father for every day I get to be a mother. I love you Michael and Wesley.
