Brush With Fame

My parents got us tickets to the top 10 American Idol Concert for our anniversary on our anniversary, and it was awesome! Michael Johns was my favorite. Brooke White said that Utah was the place. She's adorable. David Archuleta was also amazing. That night Justin and I stayed in a hotel and the next morning were strolling through the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City and Justin spotted David Cook(THE American Idol). So I called his name, he turned around and we chatted for a few minutes. He was very polite and cool. I liked his facial hair better up close, and his fedora hat was very retro. Later we ate lunch at Tucanos and Justin spoke Portuguese with the staff while I kept saying "Obrigada." The abacaxi was moito bem. (The grilled pineapple was delicious!)

Happy Anniversary, Honey Bunches!

This post is dedicated to my loving and wonderful husband, Justin on our anniversary. It has been FOUR amazing years and I can't believe it. They have been the four best years of my life, and I am so happy I married you. You are such a loving, considerate, sweet husband and excellent father. Thanks for being you. Thanks for being such a great example to me in the gospel. I couldn't have asked for a better life than I have with you and the boys. I love you.

I've Been Tagged
I've been tagged by my dear friend Chely. (http://provstgaardfamily.blogspot.com/) Being "Tagged" means you are supposed to answer a questionnaire about yourself so others can get to know you a little better. This one's called "The 5's". Here goes...
What I was doing 10 years ago: I was 12 years old, making new friends in my new neighborhood in Providence(Sarah, Candyce, Kara), my family had just moved from River Heights a few months earlier. I had blunt cut bangs, similar to the ones I had a few months ago. I was right in between dolls and boys. Not quite a teenager. I played with my cat Simba often.
5 years ago: I was 17 years old, definitely a teenager. Definitely boy crazy. I drove around a red neon way too fast. I had just graduated high school and was looking forward to moving to Orem to attend UVSC. My friends threw me a surprise 18th birthday party at a house that some college guys lived in with a bunch of friends from our singles ward.
1 year ago: I was 8 1/2 Months pregnant with Wesley. I was excited to be induced 1 week early. My main project was tending and watering our garden and chasing Michael.
Yesterday: I was getting ready for our ward's huge quarterly enrichment meeting on Emergency Preparedness. It was a good turnout and lots of fun. Justin had a class, so my mother-in-law came by to babysit the boys.
5 favorite snacks: string cheese, smoothies, dried mango slices, cotton candy, & go-gurt
5 favorite books: The Book of Mormon, Twilight by Stephanie Meyers, Eclipse by Stephanie Meyers, No Longer Strangers by Rachel Ann Nunes, & Chasing Yesterday by Rachel Ann Nunes
5 fave places to run away: center street park, my friends' yard on main street, any swimming pool, any lake, & yard sales
5 bad habits: staring at walls, using too many purses or bags at the same time, not prioritizing daily showers, don't worry enough, & regularly late to things
5 things I would never wear: mini skirt, peep-toe pumps, spice girl platforms, crocs, & brown lipstick
5 pet peeves: when people say they'll do something then they don't, when people can't accept a compliment, when people won't accept an act of service, when people think that when you have kids your life is over, & boring people
5 things I enjoy: swimming, riding my bike, spending quality time with my family, relief society, family reunions
5 favorite t.v. shows: Star Trek, the Bachelorette, the Bachelor, American Idol, & Extreme Makeover Home Edition
5 famous people I would like to meet: President Thomas S. Monson, President George W. Bush, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, & Ben Harper
5 people I want to tag: Lena, Candyce, Roxie, Jen Nielsen, & Michelle R

Summertime Traditions
Family, Festivals, Father's Day, and Freedom. Summer is here and it feels wonderful. Justin and I were trying to soak it in so much that we all got sunburns.
Next, the whole family went to Seven Peaks Water Park to take advantage of our Season Passes we got through Justin's work. It was nice to go swimming, the wave pool is my favorite. Even though we all got sunburns we had a grand time.
We also attended a Mystery Dinner with Justin's family and some friends. Yesterday was Father's Day. After an exceptionally great day at church, we went to my Grandma Wilson's and saw my family, then to Justin's dad's house in the mountains, then to Justin's stepdad's.
It was fun to see everyone. Happy Father's Day all you dads out there, especially to my love, my one and only, Justin.
He is the best dad I know. :)

Terrible Two's
It's been a rough couple of weeks, and it seems to be getting worse. Michael is now in his "Terrible Two's". He is a little tornado. He makes messes everywhere he goes, he gets into everything I don't want him to get into, and he throws fits all the time. He gets into the fridge and opens all the yogurts and string cheeses. Then he escapes out the locked front door and tramples my garden. Next I try putting him down for his nap, after two minutes of emptying all his toys out of the toy box and all of the books out of the book shelf he comes right back out. Even with a child lock on his door! Then he empties my purse, or diaper bag, writes on anything he can get his hands on. Next I find him trying to eat pennies and putting quarters down the heater vent! I can't forget him somehow figuring out the child lock we had on our entertainment center and getting out every DVD and opening it and scratching all his favorite ones. He even broke one of Justin's favoite video games. The list goes on and on and on. I am trying my best but i just don't know how to handle this! Any ideas are gladly welcomed.
P.S. Thanks for letting me vent.
