25 Random Things

Here are some random things about me you may not have known before:
1. I secretly can't wait to be a grandma.
2. Going along with that, I love old people. I think more people need to listen to them more often, give them more credit. They are wise.
3. I want to have a large family. Mostly because the Lord's commandment to multiply and replenish the earth is still in force. And because I love children. And many many more reasons, but mostly, I trust the Lord enough to know that if I obey him, I will be blessed.
4. I am a puzzle-holic. It all started when I was young doing puzzle wars with my siblings and cousins. My favorite puzzles are 300 piece.
5. I love makeup. Whoever invented it is genius. Why not enhance your natural beauty?
6. I've always wanted to live in California. Something about the california style draws me there. I don't know if it will ever happen though.
7. I would seriously like to dress my baby girl in a dress every day. At least up until her 2nd birthday or so. But chances are Justin will get her in some jeans or stretch pants every once in a while. That's ok. I don't want her to hate wearing dresses, I want her to love it.
8. I grew up in Cache Valley and loved it, but since my parents moved away I've only been back seven times in the last five years.
9. I agree with Dr. Laura about 80-90% of the time. I really like that she believes that men and women have different roles.
10. I love Star Trek. Hey, don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Me and Justin like to watch an episode at least once a week. My favorites are Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. Deanna Troi and Charles "Tripp" Tucker are my favorite characters.
11. I have a goal of visiting every temple in Utah by the year 2012.
12. My sister taught me to read when I was only three, and I have loved reading ever since. I just finished "The Hunger Games" By Suzanne Collins. I couldn't put it down, I recommmend it wholeheartedly.
13. I love family reunions and family parties and think it's tragic when families don't get together anymore or don't think they are important.
14. I love almost everything about the time period and location the old t.v. show "Bewitched" was filmed in. When I have a house of my own, I will get much inspiration from Samantha and Darren's house.
15. I have a horrible memory.
16. I collect My Little Ponies. I have some from each generation: G1(from the 80's), G2(late nineties), and G3's(modern day). They are so bright and fun and colorful, I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to play with them.
17. I really like American Idol, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and The Bachelor. Almost every episode of each of those shows makes me cry. :)
18. It was love at first sight when I first met my husband, Justin. It has only gotten better and our love stronger since then. He is the most amazing person I have ever known.
19. My favorite way to read the scriptures is opening them randomly. The verses I find always pertain to my life in some way at that time, it's amazing.
20. I am part of the 10% of women who actually love pantyhose.
21. I love being a mother more than anything. I feel so blessed that the Lord entrusted these beautiful spirits to me to raise. It is a huge responsibily, but I love it more than I could ever describe in words.
22. Going to EFY changed my life. I highly recommend it to every teenager.
23. I don't worry about money. I think it's sad when people think the amount of money and possesions you have should control how many children you have. I think it has a lot more to with the amount of love, charity, and selfless sacrifice you have.
24. My favorite colours are fushia, aquamarine, and r.o.y.g.b.i.v..
25. I am a potter. I grew to have a real passion for it in high school, did a little bit in college, but haven't found a place and time to do it for a few years now. I look forward to throwing on the wheel again with that wet pile of earth as my canvas. I found it to be a grand outlet for my creativity and can't wait to do it again.

Our Amazing Families

I just want to say how grateful I am for both mine and Justin's families. They are both so awesome. The boys haven't been feeling that great lately and both families jumped at the oppurtunity to serve. My mom dropped everything and stayed with us for a day and a half and it was so helpful. Thanks mom. We love you!

Michael & Wesley Pictures

Here are some recent pictures that we got taken of the boys over at Target. They're so cute. They're getting so old and grown-up looking. Enjoy!

And this is my favorite one below. They both just have the cutest little faces. And they're nice with each other. Love my little dudes!

This is that same pic that's my favorite, but the people put it into this little "love" theme. They're cute!

Start of 2009 in Pictures

Here are some of our first pictures of the year:Here is Wesley helping us shovel snow in our driveway right after a really bad storm earlier this month. He is such a great helper. :)

Justin's birthday was quite fun. Here he is trying on a vest I got him:
Here are the boys looking for something to eat. Here is Justin's birthday cake. The 1 was the only candle we had. Wesley is wearing a hat my mother made for him. If you look closely you can see my growing prego belly.

Michael is getting smarter every day. We are going to try potty training him again in a few weeks, then a few weeks after that, he will be three! Here's Justin and the boys showing off a lego tower they made one night. So far except for a few runny noses and kids erratic sleeping schedules this year has been pretty good to us.

P.S. Please excuse my boring writing style. I wish I could write with more wit and entertainment value but I lack that talent. What do you like in a blog? What would you like to see more of on our blog? I would love any suggestions. Thanks.

A New Beginning

With the start of a new year brings fresh hope for the future. Today was Inaguration Day. The President of the United States is now Barack Obama. It's official. I think he brings a new sense of hope and faith in our country and it's people. Although I don't agree with him on all issues, because he is now our president I will support him and pray for him every step of the way. I hope that people of every party, whether democrat or republican will support him.
By the way, poor President Bush is so under rated. I kind of feel bad for him. He did a great job and I think more people will realize that in the future.

Christmas Break & New Years

This Christmas and holiday season has been one of my best ever. For the last 2 weeks I've had the opportunity to be off work since I work for the school district. Since I didn't have school classes either because of the break, I was able to spend a lot of time with family this Christmas-time and go to many family parties, on both sides. I had so much fun! I love family and love to spend time with them. We went to many parties on Jenny's family's side, and stayed at her parent's house for five days and four nights. Good times. My brother Brandon and his family came down from Roosevelt and we spent a lot of time with them. They were times I will never forget.

Here are some pictures of some of the fun times we've had over the last 2 weeks.
Here we were enjoying the snow. We were glad it was a snowy Christmas (even though I'm not really a fan of the cold) I like the snow.

Jenny's LaRocco family cousins had an "Ugly Sweater" competition. The kid in the back one first place with the blue sweater that lights up. He even had to plug himself in, it was hilarious.

Wesley was beat around this time of year because he had so much fun with cousins and presents. He fell asleep on his high chair one afternoon while eating lunch, it was so cute!

We had our annual Christmas Eve party at my Grandma and Grandpa Furr's house. Wesley got a Magna Doodle Jr. and Michael got a Nerf gun that he loves. It was a fun party, we also played holiday bingo and Jenny and I won a pair of car Rudolph antlers and nose.

This was Christmas morning at our home. The boys loved it and we were so blessed to be able to get them some fun presents (with a little help from Santa) ;) It's nice that they are still young enough to not care about how much money we spent on them (wasn't much).

We visited my parents house for a short while, and saw my brother David and his wife Kami there. They got us towels with our names sewn into them which Kami made! It was cool and mine was red and Jenny's was pink (our favorite colors). Very thoughtful gift. Jenny made all the girls in our family these nice aprons. She personally selected all the fabrics and thought about which girls would like each specific one. Very thoughtful gifts sweetie! (oh yeah, I helped her make part of them, weird I know). ;)

The day after Christmas we were up in Farmington and spent the previous night there and 3 more after that. We had so much fun with Jenny's family--they are wonderful people. It snowed the day after Christmas and we all went out and shoveled the driveway plus 2 non-member neighbors. It was fun to do that. Plus I got to try out a snowblower for my first time.

At Jenny's Wilson Christmas get-together, everyone did talents. Mark (Jenny's brother) and I have been practicing a lot of Coldplay music lately (he plays piano, I sing) and so we played two songs for the whole family, The Scientist and In My Place. It was fun and Mark's really good. He taught himself to play the piano and I hope he can teach me.

Over the break, Jenny's 2 uncles and aunts, Mark, Jenny's dad and mom, me, and a few other people I might've missed all got Blackberry phones. Best part was, they were free as upgrades. We spent New Years Eve at Jenny's Uncle Keith's house in Spanish Fork. They're an awesome family and we dinked around with our new awesome Blackberry toys for a while. I'm loving my new phone because I can use wifi at home on it and I can listen to music (up to a 16 GB microSD card can go in there for lots of music; but I ordered an 8GB off NewEgg.com for dirt cheap!) ;)

Here we were again at Keith's house. Good times:

My parents took us to Chuck 'A' Rama on New Years Day for a treat. We had lots of fun with the fam.

We had quite a full house for a while. Brandon's family was there (he has 4 kids), and Erin came over with her girl Ava and we all partied. It was loads of fun. Even my friend Grant came over with his Wii and we played some Mario Kart and Smash Brothers for a while.

Michael and Wesley just love olives! So we put them on our fingertips (I used to as a kid, who didn't???) and they just have so much fun with it.

Then Brandon and Candace and Jenny and I and our kids spontaneously decided to go to Macey's and get ice cream cones. It was so messy and so much fun!

Wesely thought his styrofoam cup was edible for a while there but he learned it wasn't. Michael decided to start playing with his ice cream cone.

Michael and Shawn had so much fun playing together. They both have little pilot coats, it's so cute.

This is my brother Brandon. He and I are pretty close I'd say. He's an awesome brother and I love spending time with him and his family. And our kids get to play together. We had such a great time hanging out with him and his family. Love ya bro!
